Designed to fit in with the rustic architectural style of this Weston luxury home, the spacious kitchen features cabinetry with full-overlay doors of knotty pine stained in Harvest Gold. The surfaces were hand-distressed adding dings, dents, rasp marks and worm holes, with a chocolate glaze to accentuate the artistic effect. The granite Crema Bordeaux countertops reinforce the theme with handmade chiseled edges. A sophisticated SubZero fridge and Asko dishwasher are panelled the same way to maintain the visual effect. By contrast, the stainless 36" Best by Broan hood over the Wolf six-burner gas range creates a visual focal point in the center of the kitchen. The hammered-nickel farm sink, strategically located at the window, adds a complementary touch of metal, as does the island sink and the oven/microwave combo. To finalize this gourmet kitchen, the accent lighting and sculped nickel knobs, well-selected by the owner, create a beatiful effect specially at night. The layout was especially challenging due to the necessity of working around fixed architectural elements in the post-and-beam construction, but the end result is a masterpiece of beauty and functionality.
