Efficient utilization of space was a top priority in this compact kitchen design. Note the use of angled corner cabinets to maximize hard-to-use cornerspace, and the buit-in corner appliance garage. Undercounter lazy-susans efficiently utilize several other corners. The apparent space was also expanded by extending design cues from the kitchen into the adjoining dining area. The built-in desk adds great utility to an otherwise dead corner. A rolling bureau cabinet (visible in the background of figure 3) is custom-built from the same cabinetry used in the kitchen. A bank of outward-facing drawers and cabinet (Figure 7) completes the integration of the kitchen and dining room into a unified space that seems larger than it is.
