The cherrywood door and drawer fronts are constructed from 3/4" thick solid wood. The flat surfaces emphasize the natural beauty of the wood with great ease of maintenance. The doors use the full overlay style, with black hardware accents blending with a black granite countertop, black floor tiles, and smoky gray mirror backsplash. The cabinets extend up to the 96" height ceiling for more storage space, and were designed to complement a variety of existing finishes and styles in the adjoining family room. What defines these areas and pulls the room together is the creative use of a peninsula into the space, creating a sense of boundary between kitchen and family room, while maintaining the open, spacious feel. For daily use it adds prep area and storage, and during entertaining it serves as a buffet. Designed to accommodate the best cooks, their friends and families, this kitchen is a case study in functional beauty.
